I am a player/coach with a full-spectrum skillset who can add value at every level of the design process.

My skills include:

Design Management, Mentorship and Leadership

Designers need clarity and guidelines, but business ideas don't start out that way. I help translate business needs into tangible design direction. I have experience in all aspects of managing a design team: managing designer workload, mentoring individual designers, and keeping the team motivated with new ideas, fresh perspectives, and a bank of exceptional animated GIFs.

Product Design and Strategy

To be a product thinker means understanding a product's role in the larger context, the value it provides to the business and to the consumer. To be a great product thinker is to be great at asking the why behind every decision. Many businesses at Accenture have approached my team to build their products, and my role as Business Designer is to help the stakeholders come to an alignment on what the problem is, how the product intends to solve that problem, and who it's for. See example.

Storytelling

I am a compelling storyteller and PowerPoint deck-maker who can tell clear, concise stories that help business stakeholders align on decisions. I excel at translating business needs into design and championing a clear design viewpoint across multiple stakeholders. See example.

UX and UI

I'm a rational and analytical thinker who can design interactions that are efficient and meaningful. See example.

Visual Design

With roots in graphic design, I just need an idea and some text to create visually compelling designs. My aesthetic is clean, modern, and efficient. Visit my Dribbble page for more.

Thought Leadership and Writing

I am an excellent writer and clear thinker. See what I've written.

Design Research

As Erika Hall of Mule Design says, "If your design isn't based on evidence, what is it based on?" I have extensive design research experience that has taught me about using the right methods, asking the right questions, and interpreting data properly so that we always get data that is meaningful and actionable. At Accenture, I oversee our design research practice. Read about my research philosophy.

Design Thinking

I am comfortable running Design Thinking workshops for stakeholders to increase participation and generate ideas. The most effective Design Thinking workshops occur after some design research has been done, so that everyone generates ideas from the same understanding of the truth.
